Andrea joined Mountain West in the fall of 1996. An All-American at the University of Minnesota (1996), she placed fifth in the 1,500 meters at the 1996 NCAA Championships. After joining the Mountain West Track Club, Andrea improved her 1,500 meter time in nearly every race she entered and has dropped her personal record nearly seven full seconds. One of Canada's up-and-coming 1,500 meter runners, Andrea's personal record of 4:14.24 placed her sixth in the 1998 Canadian National Championships. Last year, Andrea represented Canada in her first major international championships, the World University Games in Palma De Mallorca, Spain. A breakthrough performance, Andrea advanced to the finals where she finished twelfth in the women's 1,500 meters. In addition to the World University Games, Andrea represented Canada in both the Chiba and Seoul International Ekiden Road Relays.
